Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon

The Yarlung Tsangpo cuts a deep canyon through the mountains of Nyingchi, curving around the Namcha Barwa massif. Dramatic changes in elevation create environments ranging from snowfields to dense forest. The great bend of the river and the surrounding peaks define one of Tibet's most distinctive landscapes.
