Basum Tso

Basum Tso, also called Draksum Tso, is a green lake surrounded by forest and snowy mountains in Gongbo'gyamda, Nyingchi. A small island holds the historic Tsodzong monastery, associated with the Nyingma tradition. Woodland, alpine pastures and seasonal colours give the lake a very different atmosphere from the open landscapes of northern Tibet.
